Last night myself and seven other members Of the Greensburg fire department had the wonderful opportunity to sit in on a wonderful event held at the Ferrante‘s Lakeview restaurant. This event was being held by the Greensburg Salem alumni. This event honored three great people. Jeffery Mansfield class of 1970 Michelle Henry class of 1987, we’re both given 2024 distinguished alumni award.
The third recipient was Karl Eisman not only a Greensburg volunteer fireman, but an icon in the City of Greensburg holding the mayors position for 16 years, having a downtown business for many years, was honored as the 2024 distinguished service award.
We take this opportunity to congratulate him on this terrific honor. Here’s a few pics of him accepting his award last evening. Congratulations.

Last evening 50 of our members joined Asst Chief Bill Wright to listen about Ventilation and proper placement of fans. Live Demonstration in our drill tower was a great visual. Thank you Bill for a great refresher!! “Smoke was done with smoke machine”not live fire.

It’s that time of year again that the Greensburg volunteer fire department is hosting this year’s community day event. Saturday, May 25 at Lynchfield. One of our main events will be, of course, the battle of the barrel. We are now accepting teams with a chance to win $$$ for the top 3 finishes!!! On Saturday the Chief was contacted that there was some ducklings that had fallen into a catch. Basin at Lynch feild near the drill tower. The Chief along with a crew from rescue 3, successfully rescue 5 small baby ducks and returned them to a patient mother duck. Just another day at the office! GFD PROUD!
