Being a Fire Chief over the past 10 years has had its ups and downs. You get used to the daily grind of incidents, reports, paperwork and all that goes along with the job. The one thing that we don’t get used to is losing a member of our fire Family. I sat down and truly wanted to tell you David that myself, along with our Members of the Greensburg Vol Fire Dept. are so deeply sorry for your loss. Losing Lucy is like losing a piece of your heart. To you and all of us, she was never “Just a Pet” she was family, a constant companion, and a source of unconditional love and comfort. We know how much joy, laughter, and warmth she brought into your life, and how deeply she will be missed. In this difficult time, I hope you can find comfort in the countless beautiful memories you shared — the quiet moments, the playful times, and the way she always seemed to know when you needed her most. Please remember that grief is simply love with nowhere to go, and the love you shared with Lucy will always remain a part of you.
